3 Keys to Accomplish Your Goals
I met a client recently and she asked me a profound question. “Life is so complicated, I tried so hard to make my family happy by giving them my time, but they are not truly satisfied.
I went to look for jobs, however, I do not seem to be able to achieve what my heart wants (a job that pays reasonably well!). How can I do it differently to achieve the results that I want? “
I think we all face such challenges in life. She is absolutely right, life is complicated! Therefore, it’s best to make life simple. I am happier living a simpler life!
What really helps me to achieve most things I set my mind on is my ABC formula. – Action, Believe in Yourself and Consistency. Here’s what I share with her:
Key # 1 : Action
Life rewards action takers. There are times that I know I have to do something but am simply too lazy or too afraid to take action. Those are the times that I never really achieve anything.
I have learned that in order to accomplish a certain goal, I need to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Not every action taken will equate to success, however, by not taking any action will guarantee that nothing will be achieved. So I have to constantly remind myself, no excuses, no more procrastination, take baby steps and keep on moving forward.
Key # 2 : Believe in Yourself.
So many people set themselves up for failure simply because they don’t have enough faith in themselves and self limiting belief can be very destructive. While being humble and modest is a characteristic often admired, it does not mean underestimating your own capabilities or undermining what you can do.
Be grateful for the God given talents you were blessed with and use them as much as you can. In this sort of situation, nothing is keeping you from achieving success. The only person holding you back is yourself. So do not hold back, do what your heart tells you to do.
Key # 3 : Be Consistent
To succeed in life, you must be consistent. For example, to have good oral hygiene and healthy teeth, we need to brush our teeth daily. Failing to do so consistently will lead to weak gums and teeth.
Consistency works because while continually working on short term momentum, it doesn’t build anything. Doing the same thing daily eventually snowballs into tremendous progress because it doesn’t stop. Be consistent, take action and believe in yourself. Do whatever it takes to get from where you are to where you want to be!
To Your Success,
