Recently Hirsch’s Fourways, the flagship store of the Hirsch group in Gauteng, pulled off a double wammy for their domestic workers networking sessions by organizing both the Douglasdale Police Station and Life Hospital to come and speak to the group.
Commented Hirsch’s PRO, Sharron Dingle “Representatives from the Douglasdale Police Station, Sgt Mokwena and Warrant Officer Devlin Phillips, spoke briefly about the youth and the huge peer pressure regarding alcohol and drugs and how parents can arm themselves with information. Straight after this we had the Chief Paramedic, Warren Hastings from Life Hospital Fourways with his helpers and the PRO Jane Lamprey giving a talk and demonstration. They had the “whole family” of CPR dummies present. Although it was not an accredited course, Warren patiently set the scene for why and how CPR is so important. He showed us straight chest compression CPR and each of the ladies had the experience of doing the CPR. Warren said he was impressed how well the ladies did to get the compression rhythm going.”
