Hirsch’s Struben’s Valley recently hosted a charity drive in aid of the less fortunate girls in the community – to help them dress like Cinderella on their special day!
Commented Hirsch’s PRO Dorette Nel “With Matric Dance season in full swing, it is often forgotten that many girls are not in a financial position to buy a dress for this special occasion.”
Tania Sutherland from Tania Sutherland Designs got together with Nicole van Eeden from the South African Council for Business Women and Dorette, to collect evening dresses and accessories which could be donated for this worthy cause. Cheryl Hlabana, representative of the Freda Hartley Foundation for abandoned women was there to collect the donated dresses and distribute them to Matric girls across Gauteng. The Cinderella Drive was such a great success that plans are already in action to make them bigger and better in 2019. “ We would like to thank the community for contributing to this worthy cause”, commented Dorette at an event that was held at Hirsch’s to do the handover to the Foundation.
