Hirsch’s Fourways recently had the pleasure of putting the Hirsch philosophy of giving back to the community, in particular our domestic workers. Commented Hirsch’s PRO, Sharron Dingle “We had a nomination by Gerda Matil of Lonehill who sent in her motivation for her domestic worker Fikile Khubeka who has been with her for over 27 years. She said that she was not only the best cook and the most reliable person, but she has become her friend and family. This is what Hirsch stands for, empowering and recognising the vital people in our society. There is a monthly winner where each winner gets a R300 Hirsch Voucher and a Certificate. These winners go forward for the title of Hirsch’s Domestic Worker of the Year with a prize of R5000. “ Said Sharron.
“On the second last Thursday of the month Hirsch Fourways holds their Domestic Workers Workshop where they are given information and training in various things from security to basic technology and also we show them how to care for the home as well as the appliances under their care. Sharron said that it is all about growing them and building their self worth and giving them real skills that they can use on their resume’s.” Sharron explained.
