Local and aspiring entrepreneurs recently got together at Hirsch’s Strubens Valley for their monthly women in business networking events. Author of Avoiding Burnout and Harnessing stress, Kathy Mann, spoke on her personal experience with stress. Being a business owner/managing director, ultramarathon runner, mom, and wife, Kathy experienced burnout: she developed a stress-induced autoimmune disease from living a life that was not aligned to her talents and strengths.
“Stress is not something that can be dominated, suppressed or avoided. It is possible to learn how to harness it, however. In understanding the way our brains and bodies react in supporting us through stressful situations, we can learn to embrace stress and use it to our advantage.” Kathy explained.
Networkers were given the opportunity to showcase their products and introduce themselves and their businesses. This was followed by a lucky draw, networking, sharing of business cards and enjoying refreshments.
