A team from Hirsch’s Homestore recently visited the home of local heroine in the Phoenix community ,Nomusa Maphumulo, to deliver desks, chairs and a Snappy Chef Induction Hob to facilitate her cooking and candle making lessons. Commented Hirsch’s Shane Spencer “Nomusa who runs her own business specialising in Health & Safety also has a great passion for helping people, especially women, and has started her own project teaching crafts and skills to the women in her community in an attempt to alleviate poverty. Skills include free candle making and baking classes. She teaches them how to make cakes that they can sell to their community, or to local supermarkets, as a source of income. We got to meet a few of the ladies who had just learnt how to make candles and a cake and they were super excited to show us their work, Nomusa is really doing a great thing for the community and we were so thrilled to have been able to help a very deserving women , ” Said Shane.
