Hirsch’s Springfield Park recently renovated their State of the Art SMEG stand and to celebrate, a Bunny Chow Competition was held, where the Grand Prize of a SMEG Stove was handed over to the announced Champion.
The Weekly Gazette was the proud media sponsor, advertising the event, leading up to the weekend. Contestants were encouraged to submit their favourite bunny chow recipie to be selected as one of the finalists to battle it out for the title of “Bunny Chow Champion”. The three finalists who were selected were, Trisha who cooked a Tikka Chicken and Prawn Bunny Chow. Aneesa prepared a Cheesy Beans and Mutton Bunny Chow, and Sarika prepared a traditional Mutton Bunny Chow.
The event was a lot of fun and very successful, we did very well with our SMEG sales, Andrew Lawrence had offered additional discounts on the stock to customers for Saturday only, which drew a lot of feet to the SMEG stand and closed many deals. The aroma’s that erupted from the SMEG stand had our judges mouths watering and wanting to jump into the pots. Joani Mitchell, was one of our judges and said; “I have SMEG at home so this competition is something that is very close to my heart. The stoves are amazing and judging this was not easy, everyone produced excellent dishes.” She further went on to say that at cooking events she usually only tastes the food, but at the Bunny Chow Competition she could not stop eating!
Determining a winner was not easy as everyone had attractive and tasty meals, but Sarika won with her traditional and spicy Mutton Bunny Chow.
