A team from Hirsch’s Struben’s Valley were recently invited to join the Rotary Club of Monument in Krugersdorp at a prize draw which took place at the Technical High School N Diederichs. Hirsch’s sponsored the tickets and the Rotary Club donated the prizes which were purchased at cost from Hirsch’s. This included a Defy fridge, stove and microwave, a TV and toaster and kettle. This prize went to one lucky winner Mr Smythe from Alberton.
The school proudly participates in the international arena and was most recently nominated to represent South Africa in Abu Dhabi in the Land Rover 4×4 Challenge. This challenge emulates the design and manufacturing process of an off-road car as the professional engineers at Land Rover would be involved in. Their specific challenge is to design, assemble and manufacture the next generation off-road car to compete in the 2018 off-road league.
By purchasing a ticket, the community had a chance to Support N Diederichs THS to assemble this car and compete in this competition. A total of R30 000 was collected to support the learners that are participating.
The principal Mr Strauss, thanked both the Rotary Club and Hirsch’s for being part of this special challenge.
