In celebration of Arbor Week – when individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees and up grade the environment, Hirsch’s Brakpan partnered with Felicitas School to increase their and the public’s awareness of the importance of planting trees. Felicitas School provides education and training to learners with disabilities.
Commented Hirsch’s Letitia Haywood. “Hirsch’s chose a lemon tree to plant as they have many uses and are best suited for warm and temperate areas. Upon arrival the atmosphere at Felicitas school was electrifying as students were all eager to participate in the tree planting ceremony. Before planting the tree Hirsch’s took the opportunity to educate the students on the lemon tree on how regularly to water and feed it with fertilizer to ensure that the tree will be fruiting in no time. The students at the School all had the opportunity to take part in the planting of the lemon tree, whether it was digging the whole, planting, covering or watering the tree. We had so much fun partnering with this wonderful school – to create awareness not only amongst the students of the school but the public in general.” said Hirsch’s PRO Letitia Haywood.
