Hirsch’s Fourways Plays Santa for their Network
Recently Hirsch’s Fourways held their annual Christmas Giving Back to the Community event in conjunction with their local Networkers and staff.. Recipients were animals, older people and children in the community.
Commented the organiser, PRO for Hirsch’s Fourways, Sharron Dingle “The first stop was to Kitty & Puppy Haven in Midrand. They are a wonderful pro-life rescue and safe haven for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs. They are in their 18th year of operation currently. Michelle Russouw-Baudoux received the food collected,.” Sharron was invited to wonder off and introduce herself to the cats and kittens. “I was transported into a happy place with purrs from all the cats – even the ferrals,” said Sharron who indicated her wish to return to volunteer to play with them on weekends.
Continued Sharron “The second stop was to Mother of Peace Community which is an orphanage in the Northriding area – housing around 32 children. Unfortunately Valerie Barbeito was unable to be at the drop off, however the 3 beautiful foster mothers gladly welcomed us, and the children were excited to see us. I would like to highlight that the Mother of Peace is one of the recipients from the KFC initiative of “Add R2” to your meal. The third and last stop was to Silverstreams Retirement Village in Randburg. It is one of 9 Flower Foundation Retirement Villages. The drop was done with toiletries and some snacks especially earmarked for the 24 frail care patients. On previous visits we have had the privilege of meeting some of the people and they are an absolute delight,” said Sharron. Deon Bruwer, the manager was on hand to take delivery of the donated items for distribution.
“It was an amazing day of deliveries and dare we say, playing Santa is pretty exhausting but at the same time exhilarating. Thank you to the Fourways Staff and Fourways Ladies, Business and Domestic Network for their generous contributions. We know that there are a few more smiles then there were this morning and that is good!!” Commented Sharron.
