Your ability to overcome difficulties, adversities, obstacles, and setbacks is the most valuable quality you can develop in life.
You can learn technical and academic skills for success, but there is no other way to develop “fire in the belly” except by facing and overcoming adversity so many times that it becomes part of your character.
But as we know, overcoming adversity is not an easy thing to do. You will need a persistent mindset that can withstand the length of the storm you’re going through.
There will be times when you feel like giving up, but you simply can’t.
You need to be able to get up again and again, no matter what happens to you.
The way you become resilient like this is by refusing to stop.
Refusing to stop in spite of your circumstances.
Refusing to stop working on your dreams.
Refusing to stop being of service to others.
The more you discipline yourself to never stop and bounce back from defeat and disappointment, the stronger and more resilient you become.
And nothing can get in your way.
I want to leave you with one last thought…
The great philosopher, Aristotle, once said that wisdom is an equal measure of experience + reflection.
What he means is that when we have experiences and we reflect on them, we extract from them every possible lesson that can help us to be better in the future.
And this lesson on resilience is what I believe we can extract from everything going on right now.
So be positive and patient, and I believe you will make it through whatever you go through in life.
