Natal Settlers Memorial Homes receives much needed food processor

Natal Settlers Homes is an organisation based in Umbilo, and cares for old age pensioners  and special needs children. Commented Belinda Naidoo, Chairperson of the organisation :  “Our  aim is to provide and foster holistic care to the most vulnerable members of  society, with respect and dignity. Most of the children we care for have cerebral palsy and have been abandoned by their families and left in our care.”The organisation contacted Hirsch’s for a much needed food processer and together with Kenwood/Braun they were able to assist in donating a brand new food processor. “Thank you so much you have no idea how much money we are going to save in the long run as we are now able to buy fresh vegetables and process them ourselves instead of buying frozen veg, This cuts down our food costs buy over 45%” said Craig Elgelbrecht Chairperson on the committee. The organisation has to feed and care for hundreds, and with only a small subsidy for the government they find it difficult to reach their targets. Hirsch’s was happy to get involved and make their lives a bit easier.
