To celebrate the Heroines in the Home around the country, Hirsch’s has been running a Domestic Worker of the Month competition, whereby employers nominate their domestic workers for the title. This month Nomthandazo Ranoto took the title at the monthly domestic workers course held at the Ballito branch recently. The competition is aimed at acknowledging domestic workers and the work they do. The monthly winners each receive a Hirsch’s voucher and a certificate. Nomthandazo was nominated by her employer Keddy Moseley who commented “Nomthandazo ‘Naomi’ has been in our employ the past 12 years, at our holiday home in Ballito.
Due to her trustworthiness, and our physical location, she keeps a set of the house keys in her possession.
We trust her completely and love her dearly. We would be lost without Naomi, and consider her as part of the family. She has been through some tough times, with the recent loss of her husband, has still managed to bring up her son, though matric, and into the job market.”
The course consisted of a training session by HR & Labour specialist, Chantal Kemp from HR Worx who facilitated a workshop titled “Integrity” focusing on honesty and communication in the workplace followed by an in-depth training on maintenance, how to clean and operate the different household appliances.
If you would like to attend the next course nominate your domestic worker as the domestic worker for the month, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 032 9467400 for more information.
