Beetroot is a rich source of antioxidants and nutrients, including magnesium, sodium, potassium and vitamin C, and betaine, which is important for cardio-vascular health. The combination of pineapple and beetroot makes for an extremely healthy and refreshing drink.
At one stage Allan would eat anything except beetroot; however he once went to a relative for dinner, at which he was served beetroot soup. Of course he had no choice but to eat it. He discovered that it was quite palatable; and he now eats it regularly. Allan is sure you will enjoy this pineapple and beetroot juice combination.
Serves 2 – 3
- 1 pineapple; remove crown; peel and cut along the length into quarters 3 raw beetroots; wash and trim off ends
- 400 ml cold ltered water
- 3 ml sea salt
- Feed the pineapple into the electric juicer on low speed.
- Then feed in the beetroots on high speed.
- Finally add the water and salt; remaining on high speed for 30 seconds. 4. Stir the juice and serve chilled.
Equipment: Sharp knife, tablespoon, kitchen scissors, chopping board, measuring jug, spatula, jug for serving, tasting cups.
