SUTHERLAND HIGH SHOW OFF THEIR CULINARY SKILLS!
Hirsch’s Centurion recently hosted a cooking competition where Sutherland High School invited 8 of their culinary students to compete against each other in teams of two to make a main and dessert for a panel of judges.
Commented the store PRO, Tsz Yan Lau, “The night was such fun! There was a buzz of energy and laughter with the parents cheering their children on! It was such a heart-warming sight and beautiful to watch. Each team came up with something spectacular given that they only had an hour and a half to prepare the two dishes. The judges were kind but also critical judging the students on criteria such as creativity, cleanliness, presentation, and taste.”
Congratulations to Sandra Roberts and Bronwyn Jacobs who took home the main prizes of a Totai 2 gas burner,a Totai Mini Skottel braai, a J Something cookbook from Smeg, and a notepad and stationary from Whirlpool.
Other prizes ranged from a Totai portable cartridge stove, Defy hand blender, 2 Hirsch vouchers. Hirsch’s cookbooks were given out as a lucky draw to the parents and teachers which they absolutely loved! Students also took home gift bags with Whirlpool sponsors as well as Hirsch magazines.
