THE YIN YANG OF SALES WITH STEPHEN VAN BASTEN AND VINESH MAHARAJ

Hirsch’s Strubensvalley hosted our Monthly Business Networking morning with two experts in their fields, Stephen van Basten (Relationship guru) and Vinesh Maharaj (Sales guru). The two of them created quite a fun atmosphere amongst the guests with their friendly banter, teasing each other and one ‘trying to be better than the other – all in the name of fun. But their message was loud and clear, Relationship building, coupled with cold calling, many follow ups will eventually lead to the sale and closing the deal. Stephen focused on facial recognition and how to read people as well as building a relationship with people, whereas Vinesh focused on going out to meet new people and forming that relationship.
Vinesh picked out one volunteer to pick up her phone right there and call a complete stranger to set up a meeting. This was filmed live. An appointment was made, the start of a business relationship was formed.

Thereafter each attendee had an opportunity to introduce themselves, their business and their offerings.

After prize-giving and thank you’s, people swopped business cards and networked with each other.
