60 is the new 40!

I received a letter from a friend today and this was my reply:
I hope it can inspire anyone at any age who feels their life is not worth while
read on….

Firstly you need to remember that 60 is the new 40 and if you reach the age of 50 today you will live till you are over 100, so the question you need to ask yourself is:

do i want to spend the next 40 years feeling sorry for myself and getting older?

or can i turn my life around and make a difference??

Ways you can make a difference

  1. your health- we were always into health but alcohol is pulling you down
  2. your partner –  you have a good man – he may not be the most dynamic on the planet but he is good and keeps you company and has never messed around so thats a plus
  1. your family – we all have difficult times with our in law children but we have to rise above it and know that our grandchildren need us and we need them so we sometimes have to swallow our pride and just soldier on regard less and when the children are older they will always want their granny
  1. your job – you have two sections to this  your actual work and your career you have to take on those jobs that pay the rent but you also need to continually look for new work andyou can do this through attending the networking breakfasts at Hirsch’s.  Although its not really y0ur scene it will  help you to grow your business and all it costs is an hour of your time once a month
  1. your money – be grateful for what you have and God gives you more – be resentful and hanging on and He takes it away take on someone you can train to do the chores you dont like and that will leave you free to do more of what you love and you do love your job and you are good at it!!
  1. material goods – your house is getting older and its looking older  -revamp with some new curtains, a new lamp, new bathmats even if you just get some new hand soap for your bathroom – it will make a big difference – you have to have nice things around you to feel good!!

7 your body and your spiritual life – you are so lucky you are thin – the rest of us battle with a weight problem!! so you can look nice every day so lets put a bit more effort into your wardrobe and dig that makeup out the bottom drawer and put it on top! and then on your face!

8 charity – giving back – you have a lot of knowledge to give – you dont want to take all your experience to the grave with you so contact some schools and colleges and find out who is training people in your industry and offer to have an intern they dont cost anything – work for nothing except busfare and you can teach them and in turn they will teach you!!!

So there is a lot to do in the next 40  years of your life and today must be the day you start I want you to write down your one year five year, ten year and twenty year goals :

Where do you want to be when you are 80?

What would you like to be doing?

AND remember you cannot say STOP THE WORLD I WANT TO GET OFF!!

if you do, its like a game of snakes and ladders

you just start at the beginning and do it all over again

you see God does put bumps in the road -you can get to the bump and turn back

but guess what – you have to turn round and keep going till you get through the bump!

and then on the other side its plain sailing until you hit the next bump and you have to work your way over that

When you look back on your life

the times that you really grew were the times you spent getting over the bump!!

So write the essay this weekend – it starts:

I am 90 years old sitting on my front porch looking back on my life and I only realise now that the best years were the last 40 years.

When i was 60 I hit  a downhill spiral because life had told me that my life was over and I only had old age to look forward to but then one day on the 22nd june 2018 I made a decision to change my life for the better, I realised that 60 is the new 40 and life begins at 40 so i have decided to reinvent myself.

Start a new life , the life that i really wanted all along but found excuses not to well on that day all excuses were gone and  changed my life to be the person i wanted to be and i realise now that i have the life i want to live and i had  to do everything possible to get here – but its been such a worth while journey.

send it to me!!

sent with love
