Hirsch’s Meadowdale recently hosted its monthly Domestic Workers Course, and had the ladies leaving with big smiles, more knowledge on different appliances and a new dish to cook, thus proving it was yet another very successful event.
Hirsch’s offers the unrecognized heroines in the community the opportunity to learn and grow. Their service department offered the ladies training on various appliances to cover every aspect of their employers’ homes and they also received training on how to use and clean different hobs and ovens, the use of washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers. The service department also educated the domestic workers on the best chemicals to use when cleaning delicate objects, such as TV’S, wood and leather surfaces.
After the appliances’ training, one of Hirsch’s very own ‘Chef in the Making’ Cameron Scott-Crossley taught the ladies how to cook Fettuccini Alfredo with a delicious béchamel sauce. The cooking class created quite a hype amongst the ladies and they were all very eager to help with the preparation of the dish.
At the end of the training day, each lady was presented with a Hirsch Domestic Training Certificate.
Hirsch’s also celebrated the Domestic Worker of the Month, Regina Ntlokoana. She received a Domestic Worker of the Month certificate along with a R300 Hirsch voucher. Regina was nominated by her employer Marissa. “Regina is simply put my super star” said Marissa.
