Hirsch’s Milnerton Branch recently hosted grade 9 and 10 learners from Curro High School and took them on educational tour of their home appliance store as part of a knowledge acquiring session of the retail industry. During the visit, Hirsch’s COE and award winning Woman in Business, Margaret Hirsch gave a talk on the importance of learning, how Hirsch’s started in 1979 and how they built their business from the little they saved, and the retail industry as a whole. The learners had a chance to make their own vision board of what they want to be when they grow up and then went in groups to visit the various departments and learned exactly what happens in each job role.
‘The visit was so nice and I enjoyed seeing first hand, how a shop as big as Hirsch’s run. The Learners loved it and where excited to learn about everything’. said Curro High School teacher, Astrid Vermeulen.
