Butter Tofu Recipe
INGREDIENTS
500 g Tofu cut into pieces
1 Tbsp Chilli powder
5ml garam masala
10ml garlic
5ml methi seeds crushed
Salt to taste
100g Vegan butter
5 to 6 tomatoes liquidized
2,5ml egg yellow food colouring
125-150ml coconut cream
Freshly chopped coriander
METHOD
1. Marinate the Tofu in spices and salt. 2. In a heavy-based saucepan, heat the butter until melted. 3. Add marinated tofu and cook until crisp on medium heat take these out. 4. Add tomato and cook for 5 minutes. 5. Add colouring and cream, lower heat, and cook for a further 10 minutes. 6. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve with rice
Cauliflower Buffalo Wings
INGREDIENTS
• 1 Head of cauliflower, cut into florets
• 180ml Flour
• 5ml Ground paprika
• 5ml Onion powder
• 5ml Garlic powder
• 5ml Salt
• 180ml Coconut milk
• 30ml Vegan butter, melted
• 80ml BBQ sauce
INSTRUCTIONS
• Preheat the oven to 180°C and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
• In a large bowl, combine the spices, salt, and the flour. Add the coconut milk and stir until combined. The mixture should be pretty thick!
• Add the cauliflower florets to the batter, coating each piece evenly in the mixture. Place the coated cauliflower on the prepare baking pans, leaving room between each piece so the air can circulate around them.
• Bake for 20 minutes and then flip the cauliflower over to the other side to get an even bake. Bake for a further 20 minutes
Vegan Airfried Koeksisters
To make Dough
1 Cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp vegan butter
1 egg from orgran egg subsitiute
1/4 cup of oat milk(enough to make a dough)
Spray and cook for frying
For the syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
¼ tsp cinnamon powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
METHOD
Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat and bring to a boil. Boil until it thickens stirring frequently. Remove from heat and add lemon and cinnamon. The syrup should be cold so make it ahead and refrigerate.
Sift Flour, salt and baking powder. Add butter to it and mix well.
Add egg substitute and enough oatmilk to make dough (soft and elastic but not sticky)
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to rest for minimum 30 minutes.
Shape them the way you like(balls, braided, petal etc)
Set the air fryer to 180*C and bake for 10minutes.
Drop into the syrup and enjoy!
