Hirsch’s Meadowdale recently participated in a fun run at the School of Achievement which is situated on the corner of Heidelberg Road and Bloemhof Street, Elspark. The school is a dual-medium school with the vision to provide quality educational intervention for learners experiencing barriers to learning and development – specifically learning disabilities. It is the first state-run remedial school in South Africa.
Commented Hirsch’s Chantelle du Plessis “Early in the morning runners arrived and registered for the run. The starters gun went off at 08h00 and 253 runners took off for the 4km run. Hirsch’s Meadowdale sponsored a Defy microwave for first prize and 200 bottles of water to keep the runners hydrated. Some runners charged past the starting line and managed to complete the route in just over 20 minutes. Superhero Fun Run medals were awarded to the first 200 finishers. Five staff members from Hirsch’s staff also participated in the 4km fun run and received medals.”
