THE TRUTH ABOUT STRESS
A Health & Wellness talk was recently held at Hirsch’s Strubens Valley with guest speaker, Charlotte Jean, a Clinical Nutritional therapist and Wellness Coach addressing the audience on dealing with stress.
Charlotte explained: “Stress levels in urban settings, especially Johannesburg, are said to be as high as soldiers fighting in trenches in WW2! This is a silent, dangerous killer.” She explained.
“First, redefine the problem. Stress (negative) is fear. In a nutshell, it is believing that it will not go well with me. This is what the majority of soldiers assumed as they fought new weapons, biological warfare and unknown tactics. Stress first takes place in the mind, in what you and I believe. It is not due to external factors, because two people facing the same problem respond differently. To remove negative or paralysing stress, we need to change our minds from a place of FEAR to a place of FAITH. Faith is not courage, nor is it fearlessness. Faith is believing, no matter what, that it will go well with you. Make this change today!”
