This ever popular & delicious hummus recipe is made in a jiffy using the Kenwood Quad Blade Chopper. Hummus is low in saturated fat and high in fiber and protein, it also offers complex carbohydrates to make you feel satisfied and full!
Try out this easy hummus recipe, it’s especially useful for single people or for people who cannot afford the larger electric food-processing machines.
Hummus Ingredients
Makes: 1 large serving container or two smaller ones
1 x 410 g tin chickpeas
Salt and pepper to taste
1 chilli, chopped (optional)
Juice and rind of 1 lemon
50 ml fresh basil
1 clove garlic, peeled
Olive oil
Method
Place all ingredients except the olive oil in the Kenwood Quad Blade Chopper and blend until it resembles wet breadcrumbs.
Add a small amount of olive oil at a time and continue blending to form a smooth paste.
Check seasoning.
Serve with pita wedges, bruschetta, veggie sticks, and nachos.
Fun Tip – Hummus Is Not Only For Pita
Try it smeared onto your sandwich, baked on fish, or made into a flavorful dip to perk up vegetables, chips or pretzels. The bright lemon finish helps cut fats and works well with seafood, and because of its creamy texture, you can substitute this as a dip or spread just about anywhere.
